What’s on Gods Mind?

I was spending some time today in prayer and I was asking God what is on His mind. I wasn’t asking Him, “What do You want me to do,” or “How do you want me to respond,” or “Can you help me with something or help someone with something?” Nothing is wrong with these prayers but I will say I don’t know if I have asked Him what is on His mind that directly before.

He answered…

His Love. His Love for us.  His wish is for us to know Him and understand Him more.

Religion gives Him a bad rap.

Religion creates a version of God made of man’s condemnation and a version of what man sees God as.  Religion is through the lens of someone’s incomplete and inaccurate version of God.

He doesn’t call us into religion. He calls us into a relationship that leads to revelation. Revelation of His love.  We can understand His love as we understand how fully we are forgiven and seen as perfect in receiving forgiveness through Jesus.

John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

We can understand who He is by reading His Word and being in relationship with Him (God). We can receive revelation both by His Word and also by His Spirit.

We must come out of agreement with the lies surrounding who God is.  When we begin to understand who God is, each of us can better understand who we are. We cannot know who we are if we do not know who our maker is.  You can not know what a creation is if you do not understand for what purpose the creator of it made it.

Colossians 1:25-27- 25 I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— 26 the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the Lord’s people. 27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

I am curious if anyone listening has asked God what is on His mind and if you have what did he tell you? If you have I would love to hear your experience or thoughts in the comments.

1 Corinthians 13:4-14 Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [for our knowledge is fragmentary and incomplete]. 10 But when that which is complete and perfect comes, that which is incomplete and partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God]. 13 And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.
